Satcom & Defense
Leveraging on its 20-years legacy and experience in designing and manufacturing high precision optomechanical systems, ADS is enhancing its product offering by introducing a new suit of high-end antenna systems. These have been specifically developed for the defense market and are all European made. For this reason, all ADS defense products are not subject to US ITAR/EAR restrictions.
ADS is proud of putting an emphasis on bridging the gap between customer needs and technically viable solutions, therefore all products can be tailored to the customers’ specific needs and requirements.
Satcom on the Move Ka-Band Terminal
We have created our Ka-band satcom on the move antenna employing the most advanced technology in what we believe to be the best and most efficient system architecture. SOTM Ka-band
Our innovative* antenna system features:
Low profile design (waveguide array)
Tuneless architecture
Wide-band performance (19.2-21.2 GHz and 29-31 GHz)
Polariser-free dual-polarisation (4-port design)
* Patents granted: IT102020000031799, IT102020000031823;
patents pending: WO 2022/136382 A1, EP 4 020 700 A1
Our stabilised platform is capable of achieving superb dynamic pointing accuracy thanks to our unique combination of:
High performance servo drives
Direct drive - NO gears or belts to wear out
Brushless DC motors
Absolute digital encoders - NO homing procedure
Single/Dual GNSS-enhanced inertial AHRS
RF/Inertial sensor fusion algorithm
C/Ku-band Ground Data Link Antenna
The GDT2-Ku and GDT2-C antenna systems have been designed for easy installation/deployment and are ruggedised to endure harsh operational environments.
They feature respectively a Cassegrain dual reflector and a prime focus antenna together with a dual axis stabilized platform capable of achieving optimal tracking accuracy thanks to the integrated ACU and conical scan algorithm.
Thanks to their modular scalable architecture, the GDT2-Ku and GDT2-C can be easily converted respectively to our GDT2-C and GDT2-Ku systems, simply by replacing a few components. Such operation can take place in the field and does not require any special tools.
Like all ADS products, the GDT2 product range can be tailored to specific needs and requirements.
C/Ku-band Airborne Data Link Antenna
The DLA3-Ku and DLA3-C antenna systems has been designed to meet the most stringent industry quality standards and to be suitable for both fixed and rotary wing aircrafts according to RTCA/DO-160G standards.
They features a tuneless high-precision waveguide array antenna and a dual axis stabilised platform capable of achieving top notch speed and acceleration, yet offering a superb pointing accuracy, in a compact, light-weight assembly.
The system can be offered including a custom high performance radome and can be pre-loaded with a tailored interface protocol, a diagnostics tool set and built in test capability. Compliance to RTCA/DO-160G Section 16 category Z (power input) can also be offered upon request.
Thanks to their modular scalable architecture, the DLA3-Ku and DLA3-C can be easily converted respectively to our DLA3-C and DLA3-Ku systems, simply by replacing the antenna element.
Like all ADS products, the DLA3 product range can be tailored to specific needs and requirements.
Dual Band Antennas
ADS X/Ka-band satcom on the move antenna system is based on ADS Ka-band architecture. It will feature two tuneless low-profile waveguide arrays, direct drive torque motors, digital absolute encoders and high-performance servo drives. Antenna polarisation is circular (RHCP in X-band Tx, LHCP in X-band Rx, dual switchable in Ka-band). The X-band LNB are placed after a high-isolation stub filter guaranteeing very low insertion loss right at the back of the array, for improved G/T performance. For the same reason, the Ka-band panel features two LNB’s which are also placed right at the back of the array. Three multi-channel channel rotary joints designed to support 150W CW on the X-band Tx channel and 50W CW on the Ka-band waveguide channel are used to allow unrestricted motion of the two antennas about elevation and azimuth axes. Pointing performance is guaranteed by ADS RF/inertial sensor fusion algorithm with the aid of a dual GNSS-enhanced AHRS.
ADS C/Ku-band naval dual axis antenna system is derived from ADS Ku-band airborne datalink architecture. It will feature four-port dual band feed system, high efficiency shaped dual reflector, direct drive torque motors, digital absolute encoders and high-performance servo drives. System operation is seamlessly commuted from C-band to Ku-band and vice versa remotely. Antenna polarisation is linear vertical in C-band and circular in Ku-band. The system is designed so that LNA’s and SSPA’s can be placed right at the back of the feed system thus guaranteeing low insertion loss, for improved G/T performance. Two dual-channel channel rotary joints are implemented to allow unrestricted motion about elevation and azimuth axes. Pointing performance is guaranteed by GNSS/inertial tracking or ADS RF/inertial sensor fusion algorithm with the aid of a dual GNSS-enhanced AHRS. The unit is protected from the environment by a maritime dual band radome.
All ADS products can be tailored to specific needs and requirements.
